Remarks by António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, at the closing session of the Global Refugee Forum 2023.  
At the Global Refugee Forum's closing, Guterres commended the efforts of all participants, including governments and refugees themselves, for their support and collaboration. The forum, marked by discussions on the current global challenges of displacement due to conflicts and climate change, underscored the need for a united approach to refugee assistance.   The UN chief called for continued commitment and action to address the root causes of the refugee crisis, stressing the collective responsibility to support refugees in rebuilding their lives with safety and dignity. 

 Drought, extreme weather, conflict and competition for dwindling resources.
